Adding a New Client

A client record is the foundation of everything in PracticeWings — tasks, documents, billing, and portal access all connect to it.

Creating a Client

  1. Click Clients in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the + New Client button.
  3. Enter the client's name, entity type (Individual, Partnership, S-Corp, etc.), and status.
  4. Add contact information: primary email, phone, and mailing address.
  5. Assign a responsible partner and preparer.
  6. Click Save Client.

You can always add more detail later. Start with the basics — name, email, and entity type — and expand the record as needed.

Key Client Fields

  • Entity Type — Individual, Sole Proprietor, Partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, Trust, Estate, Non-Profit.
  • Client Number — Your firm's internal reference ID.
  • Star Rating — A simple 1–5 rating for client value (used in the CRM pipeline).
  • ABC Rank — A, B, or C tier for client priority.
  • Assigned Partner — The partner responsible for this client relationship.
